97th playoff victory in the history of the program
The Roughrider soccer team outlasted Arizona Western College (19-3-0) Saturday night, 1-0, to capture their 20th NJCAA Region I Championship and the right to advance to the NJCAA District Finals at a site yet to be determined. Tonight’s championship is the 69th title for head coach Mike Pantalione and the rest of the Roughriders. YC owns 23 ACCAC crowns, 20 region titles, 19 district championships and 7 national titles.
The Prescott Valley magic continues for the Roughriders as they recorded their 47th victory at the amphitheater without a loss or a tie. YC is now 21-2-0 on the 2012 season including a 13-0-0 mark at home. The shutout is the 13th of the year. Daniel Sellitti played all 90 minutes in goal for the kickers tonight saving three shots on goal.

- 5th minute – Alex Harlley assisted by Julien Dragomir
For his efforts, Harlley was named the MVP of the Regional tournament.
YC now advances to the District Finals on Friday and Saturday, November 2nd and 3rd in the state of Wyoming at a site yet to be determined. The winner of the districts will advance to the NJCAA National Tournament held in Albany, Georgia.
