PHOENIX - U.S. Soccer U-18 MNT head coach Javier Perez has named a 24 player roster for a weeklong camp in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, and two Arizona natives have been called up: DF Justen Glad (Real Salt Lake-Arizona Academy) and F Gervais “Jake” Fagen (Sereno Soccer Club).

Glad was a member of U.S. Soccer’s full-time residency program at Bradenton, Fla., last year and was on the 2013 U-17 CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying team. For Fagen, this is his first YNT call up.
“It means a lot to get called in,” Fagen said. “I’ve come so far from where I was as a little kid and it feels like all this hard work is paying off.”
Playing out of Liberty High School, Fagen credits his development to Sereno, which is one of the strongest youth clubs in Arizona.
“This is where I have made the most progress out of all the teams I have played for. This year was huge for me and getting scouted.”
The U-18 MNT is one of four U.S. Youth National Teams holding camp in Florida with the U-14, U-17, and U-20 camps all starting on January 4th.
The Arizona connections to all YNT just don’t end there. Glad will be joined by RSL-Academy teammates: GK Christian Herrera (Las Cruces, NM) and F Sebastian Saucedo (Park City, UT).
M Corey Baird (San Diego), a current RSL-AZ Academy player, has been called up the U-20 MNT with former RSL-AZ Academy players: M Jordan Allen (Real Salt Lake), F Benji Lopez (Real Salt Lake) and M Andrew Brody (University of Louisville).
