San Tan Valley, AZ (Monday, November 26th, 2012) - The Phoenix Monsoon of the National Premier Soccer League, is honored to announce the appointment of Antonio Vieira as the team’s new assistant coach.

“I am really looking forward working with the Phoenix Monsoon coaching staff and players to help further the player’s technical and tactical development” said Vieira.

Coach Vieira will focus on the implantation of a club wide player development program and the launch of a new training program centered on his well knowledge career. His main objectives will be player’s development and assisting the head coach in the implementation of the new Monsoon’s team structure.

Vieira Vieira has a very distinguished professional career with an impressive list of coaching successes at numerous levels.

Phoenix Monsoon General Manager, Oscar Guardado, expressed that “The goal of the team this year is, to have a successful season and become an active player development organization state and nationwide.  New strategic alliances have been formed with United States and Mexican professional teams which will be working together in a player exchange and professional contracts for talented and high level skill players.”

Oscar continued saying “Among other goals include improving game attendance, team recognition in the Phoenix Sports market, enhancing the program for community-related events and broadening Television and Radio coverage for the team.”

The Phoenix Monsoon are a Semi Professional soccer franchise that plays in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) – One of the top men’s semipro league in North America. The NPSL is considered the 4th level of soccer in the United States below Major League Soccer, and the North American Soccer League (NASL) and United Soccer League’s (USL-Pro) and roughly equal with the USL Premier Development League (PDL)… Players have the ability to compete in the NPSL throughout the summer months in a professionalized setting while maintaining their collegiate eligibility. The league is the proving ground for players that aspire to reach the highest levels of the game, while providing affordable family entertainment to the Phoenix Metropolitan community. Founded in 2010, the Monsoon are entering their third year of existence in 2013.
